Step into the world of

genetic engineering in

this exciting, hands-on

summer camp! Campers

will experiment with real

bioengineering

techniques as they learn

to modify plants and

bacteria at the DNA level.

Using Agrobacterium,

they’ll insert plasmids into

Nicotiana tabacum

leaves, turning them red

through horizontal gene

transfer. They'll also take

genetic engineering a

step further by planting a

jellyfish gene into

bacteria, making them

glow! As they observe

these transformations,

campers will gain a

deeper understanding of

biotechnology, gene

expression, and the future

of genetic science.
