EV3 MINDSTORMS Robotics - WRO JULY

A master class for learning techniques, procedures, coding, strategy leading in to competing in a Steam Works sponsored  competition team. This class will prepare you for competition using the Mindstorms EV3 kit and challenges laid out on a Competition team table. Teaches problem solving, working in a team, trouble shooting skills, perseverance, mechanical engineering, design, strategy, documentation, presentation and programming while making robust Robots that can win tournaments.

Campers learn basic elements of Robotics such as sensor utility, gear trains, engineering design, logical thinking & coding, testing and performance. This Robotics class is an excellent way to motivate children to move deeper into Robotics while they stay excited and engaged. Become creative problem solvers!

Mission in Robotics

Step into the future and explore the world of artificial intelligence! In this exciting camp, campers will learn how Al and machine learning power the technology around us-from chatbots to self-driving cars. Through hands-on projects and interactive coding challenges, they'll train AI models, experiment with video, image (facial expressions) and speech recognition, and discover how machines "learn" from data. We will be using cameras, sensors, and microphones. 

Al-Machine Learning

Lights, camera, action! In this hands-on camp, kids become directors of their own mini movies using stop-motion animation. Campers will bring their stories to life by crafting clay characters, designing LEGO mini-figures, and building creative backdrops. With plenty of imagination and fun, these budding filmmakers will learn the magic of moviemaking-one frame at a time! No experience needed-just bring your creativity and get ready to call the shots!

Making Movies

Get your hands messy and unleash your creativity in this hands-on pottery camp! Campers will explore the art of ceramics - learning, sculpting, and glazing techniques to create their own functional and decorative pieces. From shaping raw clay to adding the finishing touches, they’ll transform their ideas into unique, one-of-a-kind masterpieces. Along the way, they’ll build artistic skills, boost creativity, and develop patience and confidence—all while having a blast!

Pottery

Join our Cardboard Automata Summer Camp, where imagination comes to life through motion! Campers design and build delightful moving creations using cardboard, cams, cranks, gears, and linkages. From a wiggling caterpillar and a spinning windmill to a moving Minecraft-inspired character, each project introduces hands-on mechanical concepts in a playful, accessible way.

Unlock the world of sound in this exciting Audio Lab camp! Campers will dive into audio technology by building their own custom headphones and synthesizers. Through hands-on projects, they'll learn how sound works, explore the basics of sound design, and experiment with creating their own music and audio effects. With a blend of creativity and technology, campers will develop skills in engineering, coding, and sound production-all while having fun with music and audio tech. 

Audio Lab

Go wild at Animal Safari camp! Learn more about your favorite animals through STEAM activities! Design clay animal characters to star in a stop motion film you direct! Make a 3D LED light-up anglerfish, create a Cheetah animation! We as a team will make the perfect and sustainably  designed Safari park complete with lights, cardboard layouts, water park and animals!

This revolutionary course makes the world of 3D printing — what once felt like the stuff of science-fiction — accessible to younger learners, while providing a foundation in critical technology and engineering skills. Now, children everywhere can learn to conceptualize, design and print in 3D!

3D Printing & CAD

Young makers explore learning basics of electronic circuits and how electronic components work, which they can then apply to an idea of their own. Students create their project using everyday materials. Students will use breadboards and will learn to build circuits that blink, squeak, tick and whirl.

Sing your heart out at our Music and Arts camp! Try your hand at different instruments including Piano, Guitars, Drums and Ukulele. Learn to make your own maracas! 3D print a whistle and discover the magic of crafting music on a computer, make a virtual piano using drag and drop coding! Dress up and participate in a musical play!

Music & Art

Unleash your inner chef and get ready to cook up a storm! In this fun and interactive camp, young aspiring chefs will learn kitchen skills, explore new recipes, and get creative with their cooking. From chopping and mixing to baking and decorating, campers will discover the secrets of preparing delicious dishes while learning about kitchen safety and nutrition. 

Master Chef

You can sketch your own design, sketch with CAD and 3D print or use cardboard or wood. Make it your own style and creation. You must make it spin and use some form of LED lights and a DC motor and/or controller patterns to make it interactive and cool! Think of an idea, review with camp coach, present, and build it! Calling all future architects & builders! In this hands-on camp, young architects will dive into the world of design and construction, creating their own bridges, towers, and mini cities. Using everyday household items, campers will transform ordinary materials into incredible architectural structures. Perfect for young builders who love to create, design, and explore the world of architecture! We will be making use of laser cut wooden pieces that allow easy assembly, LEGO bricks & other materials!

This is the pocket-sized AI chatbot device built using a Raspberry Pi Zero 2w. Just press the button, and it talks back like a futuristic walkie-talkie with a mind of its own. Built-in screen, RGB led, microphone & speaker. Push-to-talk button. Fully portable and USB rechargeable. AI responses generated using OpenAI's API or other cloud services, configurable. Run your own tools or scripts in response to AI commands. 

Make a cool 3D printed AI Chatbot

Build a fully autonomous robot using the included programmable VEX ARM® Cortex® based Micro controller & various sensor types.
